My topic for our ARW essay is the use of chimpanzees in medical research in the United States.
I choose this topic because I'm interested in why the research on chimpanzees is necessary. I know that chimpanzees are closer to human genetically than any other species but I think it also means that chimpanzees should be recognized as more respective animals than any other species.
Moreover, I read the article about the topic in newspaper recently and it said that there are two positions about the topic; a position supporting the continuation of medical and scientific research on chimpanzees, and a position supporting an end to research on chimpanzees. Therefore, I will write my essay from the two points.
The thesis statement of my essay will be that the use of chimpanzees in medical research in the United States should be banned by the law.
